The Johnson Studio at Cooper Carry collaborates directly with clients to design exceptional places. In addition to concept creation, architecture, interior design, lighting design, and furniture acquisition are all included in our comprehensive design service consultation. To ensure that our rooms are distinctive, we also work with a large number of skilled artisans that specialize in various metals, glass, and woodwork.

Angeline’s is a contemporary American eatery with Italian influences that is housed in the uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, Kimpton Tryon Park Hotel, which was designed by Cooper Carry. With its casual yet chic atmosphere, classic traditional Italian materials, and a welcoming new-southern sensibility, this warm and inviting venue has become a gathering spot for residents as well as hotel visitors.
The design of Rumi’s Kitchen provides an authentic Persian aesthetic with subtle nuances and references, drawing inspiration from the movement of whirling dervishes, Persian calligraphy, and rustic old-world features of the architecture. Tandoor ovens are on exhibit in the Persian Blue tile-covered expo kitchen, which highlights the food and embodies the best of Persian hospitality and cuisine.
The first high-rise in Conrad Hilton’s hotel empire, the freshly renovated Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, which was built in 1930, is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places. For the interior design of the bar and restaurant at the hotel, Ambar, we developed a palette of rich walnut wood, jewel-tone velvet and mohair fabrics, warm brass metals, and leather. Modern furniture combines luxury with rustic, unpretentious charm. While Mexican hand-tooled leather panels wrap columns and kitchen countertops, reflecting the specific atmosphere of the location, custom light fixtures take design cues from the original lighting.
